Tirana International Airport, also referred to as Rinas Airport, is the main international airport of Albania. The airport is located 11 kilometers northwest of Tirana and is used as a hub for Air Albania, Albawings and Wizz Air but also serves as a destination for other international air carriers.

Facilities At Tirana International Airport
Tirana Airport offers free WiFi and has a strict non-smoking policy throughout the entire airport, except for one designated smoking area (at Segafredo Bar).
When arriving at Tirana Airport you can find ATMs and a currency exchange directly after immigration in front of the baggage belts so you can already get money while you wait for your luggage.
You can also find ATMs and a currency exchanges in the center to the back of the main departure hall.
Bars, restaurants and some shops can be found before and after the security check. There is also a small supermarket (Conad) on the left hand side of the check-in area.
Upon arrival you’ll also find some mobile phone shops right in front of you after exiting the customs in the arrivals hall. Here you can buy local simcards to avoid expensive roaming charges and most of them also offer attractive data bundles.
Getting To And From Tirana International Airport
Tirana Airport can be easily reached by bus, taxi, private transfer, or (rental) car:
By Bus: The bus stops can be found directly in front of you when you exit the terminal to the left from the arrivals hall. An hourly bus service operates between the airport and Tirana and a one-way ticket costs 300 lëke. The bus departs from behind the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana on the hour from 07.00 until 23.00. From the airport the bus departs hourly between 08.00 and 24.00.
There are also direct buses from the airport to Durres, Fier and Vlora, but not to Saranda. For Saranda you would have to transfer to another bus in Tirana.
By Taxi: The official taxi stand can be found directly in front of the terminal building. The official ticket office of Tirana Airport Taxi can be found just outside the terminal to the left, next to the taxi stand. Fixed prices apply to many destinations. A ride to the center of Tirana takes around 20-25 minutes and costs 2500 lëke (20 euros). To Saranda you’ll pay 21.000 lekë (165 euros) which will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. By Private transfer: To avoid public transport or the hassle of queuing for a taxi and negotiating rates on the spot, you can book a private transfer. An air-conditioned vehicle with an English speaking driver will wait for you and bring you door-to-door to your destination. By Car: Tirana Airport can easily be reached by car and paid parking is available next to the terminal building as well as a Kiss & Fly option in front of the terminal. See prices below.
Parking At Tirana International Airport
Official airport parking can be found just next to the terminal of Tirana Airport. Be aware that for parking at P1 and P2 the tariffs differ. Here are the prices:

1-4 hours: 240 lekë
4-7 hours: 360 lekë
P2 Parking
0-7 minutes: free
7-60 minutes: 120 lekë
1-4 hours: 190 lekë

Kiss & Fly
For drop-offs and pick-ups there is also a Kiss & Fly area but this is only free for the first 4 minutes.

10-30 minutes: 500 lekë

Alternative parking
Around the airport are also several privately operated parking areas which could be a cheaper alternative if you don’t mind walking a bit further to the airport.
Car Rental At Tirana International Airport
At Tirana International Airport you can find most international and some local car rental companies at or close to the airport terminal. From Tirana it’s about 4 to 5 hours driving to Saranda. The road conditions are good and you’ll find plenty of petrol stations along the route.

When picking up your rental car, make sure to check your reservation to see whether where you have to pick up your car. Most car rental companies are located right next to the terminal building or on the opposite side of the road.
1) Next to the arrivals hall: Most of the more established (international) rental companies have a desk just outside the airport terminal. You can find the row of car rental booths right in front of you when you exit the terminal to the left from the arrivals hall.
2) Opposite the airport: Most other rental companies are located alongside Rruga e Aeroportit right in front of the airport terminal, next to Hotel Jurgen. Be aware that the rental companies are located on a side road, behind a gate. To get there just walk to the main road and take a right towards the roundabout. There you can turn left into the side road. The walk takes around 3-5 minutes.
