About Borsh Beach
Borsh Beach (Plazhi i Borshit) is the largest beach in the south of Albania and stretches out over a length of 7 kilometers in front of the town of Borsh, which is about 2 kilometers away from the beach. For the most part, the beach is also relatively wide, about 30 meters. Since the area around Borsh is one of the lesser developped regions in terms of tourism, there is plenty of space and you’ll feel surrounded by nature.
Due to its lenth, the beach is great for long beach walks and is also an amazing place to watch the sunset. On the other side, you have a beautiful view at the olive groves and other green areas and the mountain range in the background. If you look up, you can see the Borsh Castle up there as well.
How To Get To Borsh Beach
Borsh Beach is located about 2 kilometers from the center of the town and is best reached by car. From Saranda it’s a 40 kilometers drive, which takes about an hour. If you don’t have your own transportation, renting a car can be a great option to get to Borsh as you’ll get the freedom to explore more of the beautiful riviera coast.
You can also take a direct bus from Saranda to Borsh or take any bus in the direction of Himara, Dhermi or Vlora. Be aware that you will be dropped off in the town center, so you’ll have to walk for about 2 kilometers to the beach.
Facilities At Borsh Beach
Although the area is not yet fully developped into mass tourism destination, you can still find everything for a joyful holiday. There are several hotels in the town and along the beach strip, and the beach has many bars and restaurants and a few campings.
At the beach you can either lay down your towel at the public beach or rent a beach bed with an umbrella at one of the privately operated areas. There are also some water sports acivities you can do, you can rent a jet ski or take a boat trip.
