Ancient Onhezmus (nowadays Saranda) was a fortified town, but the fortification walls have either been destroyed or didn’t survive the age of time. However a small piece has been excavated and can be viewed inside the restaurant of Republika Hotel. Apart from the remains of the wall some archeological objects are displayed as well.
Another part of the remains of the fortifications is an entrance gate which can be found on Saranda’s public beach.
