Himara is is one of the larger towns on the Albanian Riviera, between Saranda and Vlora. The town is located at a bay with beaches stretching around the entire bay. The town’s beaches can be divided into 4 different parts:
The mean public beach directly in front of the town is called Spile Beach. At the beachfront is a nice pedestrian promenade with many bars and restaurants. There are also some showers to spray off any send when leaving the beach. In the middle of the beach there is a pier from which you can jump right into the water. Here you can also find many boats offering trips along the coast to some hidden beaches and caves.
The next beach to the south is the smalles of the 4 beaches in Himara, and is secluded by rocks on all sides. There is a restaurant which operates the beach and also offers beach beds and umbrellas for rent.
On the other side of the rock formation is another larger beach, called Prinos Beach. On the beach are several bars offering food and refreshments. You can also find beach beds and umbrellas for rent along the entire beach.
The final beach at the end of the bay is Potam Beach, a long but narrower stretch which is pebbled and more quiet. So definitely nice to avoid the crowds near the center of Himara. From the beach you also have a nice view at the bay and mountains behind the town.
