About The Saint Mary Church
The Church of the Nativity of the Saint Mary is located on the hillside in the village of Peshkëpi, overlooking the Drino river valley. The church dates back to 619 and is an important cultural monument, representing one of the rarest byzantine buildings in Albania. The church has recently undergone a restauration and is now back in a good state. The architecture is similar to the nearby Saint Mary’s Church in Labova e Kryqit.
