About The King Mosque In Delvina
The King Mosque in Delvina is also referred to as the Xhemahalle Complex (Kompleksi i Xhemahallës) and is thought to be the first “king type” mosque in Albania. The complex was built in 1682 for the local pasha and includes a water fountain, a madrasa and a hammam. The remains of the complex are now considered cultural monument in Albania.
How To Get To The King Mosque In Delvina
The best way to reach the King Mosque is by car. If you don’t have your own transportation you can rent a car or motor cycle, or arrange a taxi to get you there. Alternatively you can take any mini bus from Saranda to Delvina and walk from there. A visit can easily be combined with a visit to the remains of Delvina Castle, which are on the hill in front of the mosque and you can easily walk between the two.
