Ancient Onhezmus (nowadays Saranda) was a fortified town, but the fortification walls have either been destroyed or didn’t survive the age of time. A piece of the entrance gate has survived and has been excavated by archaeologists. You can find the pieces of the gate on Saranda’s public beach.
Another remaining piece of the fortification wall can be found inside the restaurant of Republika Hotel, in front of the beach.
